Waeni joined ARBS in 2020 as a Council Member bringing a wealth of experience in legal, governance and leadership matters. She is currently serving as the Head of Legal & Compliance, for BAT East & Southern Africa markets and the Company Secretary for BAT Kenya having rejoined the company after a prior stint of 6 years from 2014 – 2020.

Prior to that she worked with Bamburi Cement plc as Head of Legal & Compliance and Company Secretary, Kenya. She also previously worked with Unilever Kenya Limited as Legal Counsel, supporting the East Africa region. She is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the Institute of Certified Secretaries, Kenya. She also serves as a trustee in the BAT Kenya Provident Fund.
